From the beginning, developing the podcast has felt like such a great platform for highlighting the importance of prevention from a housing stability and homelessness lens. Podcasts provide a space for discussing complex social issues while being flexible to shift in the conversation; they are not rigid and choreographed and communicate a depth that written interviews can’t. The podcast episodes will be distributed through the growing RentSmart national network of educators across 53 communities in Canada.
So far, there are some inspiring speakers lined up from across Canada such as Dan Kershaw from the Toronto Furniture Bank, Christina Grammenos from Aunt Leahs Place, Kane McIntyre and Chris Boyd from CleanStart, and Erik Swanson from Generation Squeeze. If this sounds like something you would be interested taking part in, whether it be as a speaker or to suggest someone or an organization that inspires your work let us know! Contact Jess. We are excited to share your story!
The podcast will launch June 26, so be sure to check the Ready to Rent website for details.
